Thirty-nine civilians died in Niger attacks near Burkina Faso border during military operations.

Thirty-nine civilians, including children, were killed in attacks in the Niger communities of Libiri and Kokorou near the Burkina Faso border. The attacks occurred between December 12-14 during military operations in the Tera region, a hotspot for jihadist groups linked to Islamic State and Al-Qaeda. The Niger government has disputed some death toll reports and suspended BBC radio for three months.
