Telangana speeds up land acquisition for Hyderabad’s metro expansion, aiming to balance development with preserving historical sites.

The Telangana government, under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, is speeding up land acquisition for the second phase of Hyderabad's metro rail in the Old City. For the 7.5-km MGBS-Chandrayangutta route, requisitions have been submitted for 900 of the 1,100 affected properties, with compensation for 200 properties expected by month's end. The project aims to balance infrastructure development with preserving historical and cultural sites.
