Nigerian rights group sues President Tinubu over N57 billion fund disappearance from a ministry.
A Nigerian rights group, SERAP, has sued President Bola Tinubu for failing to direct an investigation into allegations that over N57 billion ($131 million) in public funds were missing or stolen from the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation in 2021.
The lawsuit, filed in Lagos, aims to compel Tinubu to work with anti-corruption agencies to investigate and prosecute involved parties, as well as recover the funds.
The group argues this would end impunity and benefit citizens affected by corruption.
