Dry bulk shipping rates hit a 15-month low as the Baltic Exchange index slips further.
The Baltic Exchange's dry bulk sea freight index fell 4 points to 1,051 points, marking its fourth straight weekly decline and reaching its lowest point since late July 2023. The panamax index dropped 26 points to 995 points, with daily earnings for panamax vessels decreasing by $231 to $8,955. Despite a slight gain, the capesize index also logged a weekly loss, with earnings rising by $92 to $10,474. The supramax index fell 2 points to 959 points. Iron ore futures ended the week higher amid China's stimulus pledges.
