A couple from Wallasey, Charlene Smith and David Lee Broster, had to postpone their wedding after discovering David was still legally married due to a missing divorce decree from the '90s. Despite receiving the correct paperwork on December 11, 2024, it was too late for their planned December 17 ceremony. They decided to proceed with a commitment ceremony on their original date and plan to legally marry next year.
