Allianz and Sydney Phobia Clinic have launched a virtual reality therapy program in Australia to help car accident survivors overcome psychological trauma. The VR program simulates driving scenarios to help rebuild confidence. Allianz noted a 61% rise in psychological injury claims since 2020, with anxiety and depression being the most common issues. A pilot study showed 80% of participants reported improvements in mental wellbeing. The program, currently operating in New South Wales, plans to expand access to rural areas via smartphone.
