Rahul Gandhi summonsed to court over remarks deemed to promote enmity against Savarkar.

A Lucknow court has summoned Rahul Gandhi, a leader of the Congress party and the opposition in the Lok Sabha, to appear on January 10, 2025, over charges of promoting enmity and public mischief by making derogatory remarks about freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar during a press conference in Akola, Maharashtra. The court found prima facie evidence that Gandhi's remarks could be considered under sections 153(a) and 505 of the Indian Penal Code. The case was filed by lawyer Nripendra Pandey.
