Philippines President orders crackdown on agricultural smuggling after ₱178.5M mackerel seizure.
Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered stricter enforcement against agricultural smuggling, following the seizure of ₱178.5 million worth of mackerel in Manila. The shipment violated import rules, with the fish now being distributed to evacuation centers. Since July 2022, ₱5.87 billion worth of smuggled agricultural goods have been seized under the new Anti-Agricultural Economic Sabotage Act.
