The International Institute for Strategic Studies reported a 37% rise in global conflict deaths from July 2023 to June 2024, totaling nearly 200,000 fatalities. The Middle East and North Africa saw a 315% increase, mainly due to violence in the Palestinian Territories. The fatality rate per event rose by 17%, indicating more intense conflicts. The report also noted that Western support for Israel has contributed to escalating regional tensions on an international scale.
