UN chief urges rich nations to fund climate aid and Loss and Damage Fund in Lesotho visit.

In Lesotho, UN Secretary-General António Guterres urged wealthy nations to honor their commitments to provide $300 billion annually to help poorer countries combat climate change. Guterres also called for the swift funding of the Loss and Damage Fund to aid countries affected by climate disasters. He emphasized Africa’s need for permanent seats on the UN Security Council, calling current lack of representation a "relic of colonialism."
