A Swedish government commission found that offshore wind projects off Sweden's coasts are not commercially viable. They recommend adopting an auction system, though this may not lead to more wind farms. The government plans to double electricity production over two decades and build 10 new nuclear power plants. Recently, 13 out of 14 offshore wind applications were rejected due to military security concerns in the Baltic Sea.
