The "Crown of Thorns" relic returns to Notre Dame Cathedral for public display starting January 10.
The "Crown of Thorns," a relic believed to be worn by Jesus Christ during his crucifixion, is returning to Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Saved from the 2019 fire, the relic will be displayed for public veneration starting January 10 until April 18, with additional monthly showings. Its history dates back to the 5th century, passing through Jerusalem, Constantinople, and France. King Louis IX acquired it in 1239, and it was housed at Notre Dame before the fire.
