Canadian border officials claim that Canada is not a major source of fentanyl entering the U.S., despite President Trump's threats of 25% tariffs unless border security is strengthened. The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) seized only 4.9 kg of fentanyl this year, mostly bound for the Netherlands. Small personal amounts are sent over the border, and Canada plans to enhance security with new staff and equipment, potentially costing over $1 billion.
