Vestas plans to cut at least half of its jobs in Isle of Wight, shifting to smaller onshore wind turbines.

Wind turbine maker Vestas plans to cut at least half of its 600 jobs at its Isle of Wight factory, shifting from offshore to smaller onshore wind turbine blade production. The UK government has agreed to repurpose the factory, saving around 300 jobs and supporting the UK's onshore wind energy goals. Vestas will offer other roles within the company to affected employees, with consultations set to provide clarity by January.
