A prisoner is held on suspicion of murder after a fellow inmate died at HMP Five Wells.

A 20-year-old prisoner has been arrested and bailed on suspicion of murder after a 49-year-old inmate died at HMP Five Wells in Wellingborough. The cause of death is still undetermined following a post-mortem examination. Northamptonshire Police and prison officials are investigating the incident. The prison, run by G4S and opened in 2022, has a capacity of over 1,600 inmates. The deceased's family is receiving support from specialist officers.
