Nigeria adds 150 megawatts to its grid, advancing its power modernization and renewable energy goals.

Nigeria is set to add 150 megawatts to its national grid by year-end, following progress in the Siemens Presidential Power Initiative. Since December 2023, Nigeria has already added 750 megawatts to its grid capacity through this partnership, part of a broader effort to modernize its power grid and enhance energy access. The initiative includes revamping 14 substations and building 23 new ones, aligning with Nigeria's renewable energy goals and its plan to achieve net-zero emissions by 2060.
