Former school maintenance director indicted for alleged $3.4M fraud involving fake invoices.

Michael David Barker, former maintenance director of Boone County Schools, has been indicted for allegedly defrauding the school system of $3.4 million. Barker is charged with 18 counts, including mail fraud and money laundering, for allegedly conspiring with Jesse Marks of Rush Enterprises to submit fraudulent invoices for undelivered janitorial supplies. Barker faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
