RCMP operation in Kelowna led to 47 arrests for shoplifting, recovering thousands in stolen goods.

The Kelowna RCMP's Project Barcode, conducted from Dec. 2 to Dec. 7, led to the arrest of 47 shoplifters, recovery of thousands of dollars in stolen goods, and the impounding of two vehicles. Twelve of those arrested had outstanding warrants, while seven with little criminal history were referred to restorative justice. The operation aimed to boost safety and support for employees during the holiday shopping rush.
