NZT Power Ltd. secures contracts for UK’s first gas-fired power station with carbon capture, aiming for operation by 2028.

NZT Power Ltd. has secured contracts from three major companies to build the UK's first gas-fired power station with carbon capture and storage, capable of capturing up to 2 million tonnes of CO2 annually. The project, expected to start in mid-2025 and operate by 2028, aims to create over 3,000 construction jobs and 1,000 operational jobs yearly. Supported by the UK government with a £22 billion investment, the project is a critical step towards achieving the UK's net zero emissions target by 2050. Additionally, the Northern Endurance Partnership has achieved financial close for the UK's first CCS project, set to store up to 4 million tonnes of CO2 annually.
