A Longview police officer killed a mountain lion on Loop 281 early Tuesday morning.
A Longview police officer struck and killed a mountain lion, also known as a cougar, around 3 a.m. Tuesday on Loop 281. The animal was euthanized due to severe injuries. Texas Parks & Wildlife officials were notified and took possession of the carcass. Mountain lions are typically found in remote areas and are active during early morning hours.
