Indian MP accuses government of misuse in money laundering investigations, citing low conviction rates.
Congress MP Randeep Surjewala accused the BJP-led government of misusing the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for a "witch hunt."
He cited data showing only 42 out of 911 Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) cases filed in the last five years resulted in convictions, with 654 cases pending for over five years.
Surjewala noted the number of cases under the NDA government was eight times higher than during the UPA era.
The Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day.
