Ecuador ends electricity rationing on Dec. 20, following drought and halted energy imports.

Ecuador's government will end nationwide electricity rationing on December 20, just before the holidays. The rationing, lasting up to 14 hours daily, was due to the worst drought in decades and Colombia halting energy sales. Improved infrastructure and recent rains have helped restore services. President Daniel Noboa thanked the public for their resilience during the crisis, which cost businesses around $7.5 billion.
