BEML wins ₹136-crore contract for military vehicles, boosting India's defense and self-reliance.

BEML Limited, an Indian defence company, secured a ₹136-crore contract to supply indigenously designed High Mobility Vehicles (HMV) 8x8 for the Battlefield Surveillance System (BFSS) project. These vehicles, manufactured in India, enhance defence capabilities and support the government’s initiative for self-reliance. BEML plans to increase investments in defence, rail, and metro sectors, aiming for nearly 65% of its revenue to come from these areas. The HMVs are built to operate effectively in extreme conditions, from -20°C to +55°C, and up to 5,000m altitude.
