Bain Capital raises bid for Fuji Soft, outbidding KKR in Japan's booming buyout market.

Bain Capital raised its offer for Japanese software maker Fuji Soft to 9,600 yen per share, a 1.6% increase over KKR's bid of 9,451 yen, in a competitive takeover battle. This bidding war reflects the growing appeal of Japan's buyout market, which saw $81 billion in deals in the first ten months of this year, up 17-fold from the same period last year. Fuji Soft's board previously backed KKR's offer.
