Appleton School Board considers turning historic Columbus Elementary into an alternative or special education center.

The Appleton School Board is considering transforming the 130-year-old Columbus Elementary School into an alternative education space or a special education hub, which would relocate its 79 students to either Dunlap or Edison schools. To gather community input, information sessions are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday. A final decision on the school’s repurposing is expected early next year.
