Aple, a Nigerian power company, seeks up to a 163% tariff hike, pending regulatory approval.

Aple, a power company serving Abia State, Nigeria, has requested a significant increase in electricity tariffs, ranging from 123.33% to 163%, to address operational costs and inflation. The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) will review the proposal to ensure it does not exploit customers. If approved, tariffs for non-maximum demand customers would rise from N99.9/kWh to N223.12/kWh, while maximum demand customers would see increases to N240.09/kWh and N245.2/kWh. The decision will be made after considering all factors affecting the industry.
