Veteran pitcher Alex Cobb signed a one-year deal with the Detroit Tigers to strengthen their rotation.

The Detroit Tigers have signed veteran pitcher Alex Cobb to a one-year deal, pending a physical. Cobb, 37, missed most of last season due to injuries but has a solid career ERA of 3.79 over 74 starts from 2021 to 2023. The Tigers hope he can bolster their rotation, which was largely led by Tarik Skubal last season. Cobb has played for several teams over his 13-year career and is now joining the Tigers as they aim to build on their first playoff appearance since 2014.
