Sri Lankan President Dissanayake visits India, amid concerns over China's influence in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will make his first overseas trip from December 15-17, visiting India for meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu. The visit follows Sri Lanka's recent parliamentary elections, where Dissanayake's party won an absolute majority. It comes amid concerns in India about China's growing influence in Sri Lanka, a country that faced a severe financial crisis in 2022, largely due to its heavy debt to China.
