Over 3,270 Nigerian-born military service members gained U.S. citizenship between 2020 and 2024.
Between 2020 and 2024, the U.S. granted citizenship to 3,270 Nigerian-born military service members, ranking Nigeria fourth among countries whose citizens gained U.S. citizenship through military service. The Army accounted for 60% of these naturalizations, with half of the service members aged 22 to 30 and 73% being men. Nigeria's numbers have increased from 340 in 2020 to 930 in 2024.
