The New Zealand government is simplifying export rules for food products to boost trade and innovation. Starting in mid-2025, food exporters will be exempt from domestic labelling and composition requirements, making it easier to meet international standards without individual exemption applications. The changes will initially cover all food products for labelling and animal products for composition, with further extensions planned.
