Three people died when their fishing boat capsized in a strong current near a dam in Iowa.

Three individuals died after their fishing boat capsized near Lock and Dam No. 12 in eastern Iowa on Sunday. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources reported that the boat was in a restricted area when a strong backflow current from the dam's operation caused it to capsize. Two victims were declared dead at the scene, and the third died later at a medical center. The victims' identities are being withheld. An investigation is ongoing.
