Study finds fatigue-detection tech in cars can save lives by alerting drowsy drivers.

Technologies monitoring eye movement were most effective, while heartbeat sensors were less so. Drowsy driving contributes to about 30% of crashes and a fifth of fatal ones. The study provides guidelines for fleet managers to balance efficiency with safety.
