SM Prime Holdings plans a major expansion in Xiamen, China, set to outsize its Mall of Asia.

SM Prime Holdings plans to expand its mall in Xiamen, China, by next year, adding a hotel and making it larger than its Mall of Asia in the Philippines. The expansion, worth over 1.148 billion yuan, will include five towers and a 260,000-square-meter space. SM Prime is also set to open another mall in Xiamen's outskirts and plans to open a new mall in Fuzhou by 2027. The company is in talks with the Intercon Group to operate the hotel with over 100 rooms.
