Salvation Army faces $9.3 million loss in holiday donations due to Canada Post strike.

The Salvation Army reports a 50% drop in holiday donations since the Canada Post strike started, losing about $9.3 million. Mail donations, crucial to their fundraising, have been hit hard. Though online donations have risen, they don't offset the loss. In-person donations at red kettles are down by a third, or $2 million. The charity asks the government to extend the tax deduction deadline to February to help donors give later.
