Lachlan Young, 22, accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend Hannah McGuire, whose body was found in a burnt-out car near Ballarat on April 5, has requested his trial be moved from Ballarat to Melbourne. Young, who has pleaded not guilty, fast-tracked his case to the Supreme Court for September. The prosecution opposes the venue change, and the decision will be made at the end of Young’s pre-trial hearings.
