NDC's Buckman won parliamentary elections in Kwesimintsim, defeating incumbent NPP's Armah.
In the recent parliamentary elections in Kwesimintsim, Western Region, NDC's Philip Fiifi Buckman won with 15,927 votes, defeating the incumbent NPP's Dr.
Prince Hamid Armah who secured 13,317 votes.
An independent candidate received 1,835 votes.
This victory marks a shift in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis, where the NPP also lost Sekondi.
Dr. Armah, the Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, will not serve a second term.
The 2024 elections, held across 276 constituencies, were largely peaceful with a few violent incidents.
