Florida prosecutor plans to clear up to 2,600 old crack cocaine convictions deemed invalid.

Florida prosecutor Harold F. Pryor plans to vacate up to 2,600 convictions for individuals who bought crack cocaine manufactured by the Broward County Sheriff's Office between 1988 and 1990. The Florida Supreme Court ruled in 1993 that such cases were invalid, as the sheriff's office had made the crack cocaine and then sold it to buyers who were arrested and charged. Pryor aims to clear the records of those wrongfully convicted.
