Assam’s Chief Minister lays foundation for a new Brahmaputra River bridge and wildlife protection corridor.

Assam's Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, attended the ground-breaking ceremony for a new bridge over the Brahmaputra River. Expected to be completed by June 2028, the Palashbari-Sualkuchi bridge will span 3.6 kilometers and include a 5.3-kilometer four-lane road. Sarma also announced plans for a 32-kilometer elevated corridor to protect Kaziranga's wildlife during floods. These projects aim to improve connectivity between the river's northern and southern banks, enhancing access to key locations like Gauhati University and Goalpara.
