Man jumps from second-floor window to escape Stamford fire, suffers life-threatening injuries.

A man suffered life-threatening injuries after jumping from a second-floor window to escape a fire at a three-story building in Stamford early Saturday morning. Firefighters responded at 5:15 a.m. and found the fire on the first floor; it was contained within 20 minutes. The injured resident was rushed to Stamford Hospital. The fire's cause is under investigation by the Stamford Fire Marshal's Office.
