Dubai unveils "Dubai Walk" to boost pedestrian use with 3,300 km of new walkways by 2040.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced the "Dubai Walk" project, aiming to make Dubai pedestrian-friendly year-round. The plan includes building 3,300 km of new walkways, rehabilitating 2,300 km of existing ones, and constructing 110 pedestrian bridges. The project, to be implemented in phases from 2027 to 2040, also includes innovative cooling solutions and aims to increase pedestrian usage from 13% to 25% by 2040.
