McIntyre, known for her volunteer work in sports and leadership roles at Saskatchewan Government Insurance and Wascana Centre Authority, is a member of the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame. She will represent the King and perform duties like swearing in cabinet ministers and providing royal assent to bills. The installation date is yet to be announced.
