In July 2020, Baron Li, a father in Bellevue, Washington, was shot nine times outside his home. Initially believed random, the attack was linked to a custody dispute with his ex-wife, Shaerin Kelly. Kelly orchestrated the attack through a 17-year-old, Joseph Good, with help from Quincy Mendez. Kelly was sentenced to 13 years, Mendez to over 8 years, and Good to more than 12 years in prison.
