Wheaton Precious Metals pays $175M for gold stream rights from Ethiopia's Kurmuk Project.
Wheaton Precious Metals Corp. has agreed to pay $175 million to Allied Gold for a gold stream from the Kurmuk Project in Ethiopia. Wheaton will buy 6.7% of the gold produced until 220,000 ounces are delivered, then 4.8% for the mine's life, expected to be 11 years. The deal increases Wheaton's gold reserves by 0.18 million ounces and supports Allied's development plans for the project.
