Singapore Technologies Telemedia is selling a majority stake in U Mobile to Malaysian firm Mawar Setia.
Singapore Technologies Telemedia (ST Telemedia) is selling a majority stake in U Mobile, a Malaysian mobile and broadband provider, to Mawar Setia, a Malaysian company. The deal, which is subject to regulatory approvals, will reduce ST Telemedia's stake to 20%. Mawar Setia, partly owned by the Johor royal family, will become the largest shareholder in U Mobile. The transaction is expected to complete by the third quarter of 2025. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
