Indian Supreme Court asks CBI to respond to bail plea for Briton accused in €398m helicopter scam.

The Supreme Court of India has asked the CBI to respond to a bail plea by British national Christian Michel James, accused in the AgustaWestland helicopter scam. James, arrested in 2018, is alleged to have received kickbacks in the deal for purchasing 12 VVIP helicopters, causing an estimated €398 million loss. The Delhi High Court previously denied him bail. The Enforcement Directorate also accused James of receiving €30 million from AgustaWestland.
