India approves 79 defense tech projects worth Rs 334.02 crore to boost local manufacturing and innovation.

The Indian Ministry of Defence has approved 79 projects worth Rs 334.02 crore under its Technology Development Fund (TDF) scheme to boost defence technologies, primarily supporting MSMEs and startups. This initiative, part of "Make in India," aims to promote self-reliance in defence manufacturing. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has also set up 15 Industry Academia Centres of Excellence and launched the Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) framework to foster innovation in defence and aerospace sectors.
