Berlin's panda cubs, born in August, were named Leni and Lotti, marking the second panda birth in Germany.

Berlin's twin panda cubs, born on August 22, have been named Leni and Lotti, or alternatively Meng Hao and Meng Tian, meaning "good dream" and "sweet dream." These are the second pandas born in Germany, with their parents arriving in 2017. Giant pandas are rare, with only around 1,800 in the wild in China and a few hundred in captivity. The cubs are growing quickly, gaining nearly 100 grams daily and now weighing almost 6 kilograms each. China used to gift pandas to friendly nations, but now loans them commercially.
