Former Kwara State officials face trial for alleged misuse of $14 million in education funds.

Former Kwara State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed and his Finance Commissioner Ademola Banu are on trial for allegedly misappropriating N5.78 billion in public funds, including N5 billion meant for educational projects from 2013 to 2015. The EFCC brought the charges, and a witness from UBEC testified that funds intended for school projects were diverted. Both pleaded not guilty, and the case is adjourned until February 17, 2025.
