Dublin Airport CEO urges Irish government to increase passenger cap, aiming for 40 million.

The CEO of Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) is urging the Irish government to lift the cap on passenger numbers at Dublin Airport. The airport is projected to handle over 33 million passengers this year and around 35 million next year. DAA is pushing for an interim increase to 36 million and is also seeking to raise the cap to 40 million. Airlines and the DAA have agreed on questions to present to the European Court of Justice (ECJ) regarding the cap, which could take about 16 months to rule.
