China has nearly completed its third national soil survey, launched in 2022, with over 400,000 workers collecting data from 2.87 million sample points across thousands of counties. The survey aims to analyze soils in agricultural areas, woodlands, and grasslands to improve soil use and protection. Laboratory testing is 88% complete, with 3.11 million samples collected. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs plans to finish data auditing and share results by 2025.
